The plan to establish the New Zealand Renewable Energy Initiative will be unveiled at 10am in Invercargill to the New Zealand Association of Wholesale Energy Agents.

The Government wants to set up the initiative to attract up to 15,000 people to buy solar panels and install them themselves.

The New Zealand Renewable Energy Initiative was a joint venture between the Government, the Energy Companies Council and the Ministry for Business, Innovation and Employment.
